Guest Post: Michelle

Hello lovelies!  I'm Michelle from a little bit of this & that and I am very excited to be guest blogging for Shay while she is away on her honeymoon!  The newlyweds are off on a tropical vacation!  But before I start daydreaming about my own beachy vaca, I must send them best wishes for a lifetime of love and happiness!   ♥  Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs!  ♥

Okay, so if you know me or well my little bloggity blog, you know I love to travel.  

I actually have quite the travel bug at the moment and when Shay asked me to guest blog I started thinking about what I want to share with all of you ... her lovely readers! :)   She mentioned she was heading off to Miami and then on a cruise and immediately I began to think about how much I love Miami and how much fun cruises are ... so I thought I'd share with you all what I love about them! South Beach in Miami, Florida is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a few days filled with the beach, shopping, delicious food, tropical drinks, and great music and dancing.

And since I'm totally wishing I was there right now ... why not wish I was staying at the luxurious Delano Hotel?!

The Delano is a four and a half star hotel located right in the heart of South Beach.    The Delano is known for its whimsical, art-deco styling and celebrity clientele.  It is also the first hotel to have an indoor/outdoor lobby. Isn't it gorgeous?!

There is always an awesome time to be had in MIAMI!   Cruises are SO MUCH FUN too! I mean look at this ...

Cruises are great because you can visit the islands and lay on beautiful beaches under palm trees, while enjoying cruise travel too!

Doesn't it sound and look AMAZING?!

Not to mention ... nautical outfits are pretty cute too!

Just Finish Already!

Isn't that what you guys are all thinking? It sure as heck is what i'm thinking! So without further ado, the conclusion to my vacation...

These pictures actually start out in the morning PRE parasailing... we went to the breakfast buffet (hey our hotel didn't offer many close choices! Nothing wrong with biscuits and gravy everyday for 3 days straight RIGHT?)

Post parasailing, we were looking for a lunch spot and decided to do a little bull riding! This was the randomest place ever (in the middle of an outdoor shopping area) to find a mechanical bull. However, that didn't stop us from hopping right on (and getting thrown right off!)

We decided to lunch at a place called Greg Normans. It was really lovely. On the water in a marina, so boats could just pull up, dock and go eat... Lunch was delicious... i had a nice glass of wine and enjoyed the view.

For our big night out, we decided on Brazilian BBQ "rodizio" style. For those of you not familiar with it, you have these little cards, one side red, one side green. Waiters walk around with skewers of meat (chicken, steak, pork, etc) and if your card is green will stop and serve you pieces...

Yup, they sang loudly. Totally embarassing!

Yeah, i had to get a picture of the shoes.... the backstory to these shoes, is that they have been patiently sitting in my closet for TWO years waiting to go on a date. That's right, TWO years is a very long time to wait for such gorgey shoes to be taken out, agree? So i figured, what could be more perfect than my birthday night...

By the time we got back to the hotel, we were exhausted and ended up just passing out early...

Sunday was another beach day, we played some mini golf (he won by ONE point. i demand a rematch!), lunched at an all you can eat seafood buffet with a giant crab, and hit up the aquarium... 

we decided to stop here, it was only about 95 degrees out!

i'm a better golfer than mini golfer believe it or not.

Monday morning bright and early, we packed up to head back to good old Jersey... it was the BEST birthday i might have EVER had and such a fun time that i can't wait to plan our next trip!

Birthday Morning - Vacation Pt 2

Hi Girls,

I'm finally back with part 2 of the vacation. i PROMISE i'll hurry up and finish this, as its getting farther and farther away from when we actually went on vacation. I'm already ready for my next trip! LOL just kidding... i've just been so darn busy pinning, er working to have time to get to this.

Anywho, the morning of my birthday started out with breakfast and the pool. and then an 11am appointment for parasailing! Neither G nor I had ever been so this turned out to be a great experience for the both of us... i was so nervous because i wasn't sure what to expect. But it was a gorgeous day, it wasn't scary at all and we ended up having a blast!

Overall, we had a fantastic time and they got so many great pictures of us up in the air... it was so peaceful up there and the view was amazing...

I did have a very funny convo with ma dukes once we were finished, as she was trying to call me to wish me a happy day... it went something like this:

Me: hey ma, guess what, we just went PARASAILING! it was sooooo fun!

Ma Dukes: WHAT?! Parasailing?! You mean, you jumped off a cliff??

Me: whaaaaa.... no... what are you talking about a cliff?

Ma Dukes: Like you jumped off the edge of a cliff and flew in that metal contraption

Me: No ma, that would be HANG GLIDING. we did NOT go hang gliding.

LOL... sometimes ya just gotta laugh...

Ahhhhh Vacation... Part 1

Hey Peeps! I'm back, did ya miss me?! I can't even tell you what a great amazing time I had on vacation! But i'll try!

So our trip started Thursday night at around 9pm. We decided to start out with a late dinner, and kill a little time because it was raining.

Can we say FRIED PICKLES and wings - YUM!

oh ok, we're fat kids, we also got a Sausage Pizza

We overloaded on dinner - i can tell you all it was because we wanted to eat enough to hold us over for the rest of the night, but that would just be a lie. We may or may not have stopped at a McDonalds at around 3am... i mean, to be fair, we had to stop and refuel anyway...

After 10 loooooooong hours of driving and driving and driving... we finally made it HERE!

We checked in, and walked upstairs to our suite, where i found this great surprise!

 My guy is so good to me... no one has ever done that for me before and it was so sweet. Though we did think it was kind of funny that they left the strawberries in the container... later we found out it wasn't quite the hotel we had thought it was (yes, i will be posting a hotel review on Yelp and Trip Advisor). I guess that's the problem with booking things you can only see on the internet. LOL.

 After a few drinks (and a shot or two or three) we finally passed out for a few hours for a much needed nap. Once we got moving again, we got back up and got ready for our first night out. We decided to head over to Broadway at the Beach (thanks for the recommendation Sweet Bef), it reminded me of a City Walk type of place...

 We hit this place for dinner... turned out only the appetizer was really good... wasn't super crazy bout anything else we got.

After dinner, we decided to walk around, do some shopping... little did i know that everywhere in Myrtle Beach is SUPPPER casual. so i was a weeee bit overdressed in my 4" stilettos... and boy did they start to hurt the more we walked around. I eventually stopped and bought flip flops!

 We found this stray balloon hat and decided it made for a good photo shoot. It wasn't until much later when we were reviewing the photos, we saw what the sign above G's head happened to spell.

We hit up a club after i changed shoes... hung out there for a bit and then headed back to the hotel. It wasn't a super late night since we had been up for a ja-zillion hours.
