A Magical Year

I uploaded our Christmas Wedding announcement to VistaPrint today and ordered them! So excited to send them to our friends and family since we didn't throw the big shin dig... Figured I'd save on stamps and wish them a merry merry while i was at it... hoping they come out cute. I even splurged on rush shipping since they were having a pretty good sale!

This is actually the first year i haven't done a canine related christmas card... but i figured it could be the exception... HOPEFULLY by next year we'll have a bigger family for a christmas card. *wink*

This was the pic i used last year of the boys... in their christmas best!

Christmas is COMING!

Alrighty then.
(i may or may not have watched Ace Ventura Pet Detective this weekend)

I know I've been slacking in blog land... but with CHRISTMAS COMING!!!
i've been doing a whole lot of this:

Buying ornaments for our tree!
Found this mini nativity ornament at a specialty shop here in Princeton and I just couldn't resist!

Trying out new recipes!
Sadly, this is NOT one i'd repeat... but it was a valiant attempt at being skinny...
these are supposed to be mac and cheese "muffins". They came out fantastic... except they tasted like there was NO cheese whatsoever. I may try these again at a later point, but instead use full fat milk and full fat cheese. #fail
OK this has nothing to do with the holidays, but downloaded iFunny on my phone
and died laughing when i saw that....
it really does look evil right???

My husband may or may not have "technically" broken into a house this weekend.
Come on people... the window was open....
it was brand new construction, for sale and the realtor didn't pick up.
what other choice did we have?
it was a really nice house btw, one i would LOVE if not for the railroad tracks (out of service but still...) and FACTORY right across the street....
it was a huge letdown to see that, being that the house was absolutely adorable, in our price range and the perfect starter home. however, resale value is important,
so bye bye dream home.

Sunday morning wifey stayed in bed while hubby cooked an amazing breakfast....
poached eggs with tomato, fresh mozzerella, and avocado on top of english muffins.
it was quite the feast!
and finally... i spent some quality time with this guy:

that was my extended weekend in a nutshell...

got some other ish going on right now...
dealing with psycho neighbor, getting ready for christmas, etc....
so stay tuned, ill be back with a honeymoon recap as soon as i can!

TTFN bitches!

Bright Lips...

Blogger just deleted my whole post!!!! Waaaaaahhhhhhhh....

Ok, i'm starting AGAIN.... went to Ulta on lunch yesterday with C to browse. I had my hefty $3.50 off coupon that i *had* to use... and after seeing some of these pretty lips on Pinterest, i decided to jump on the proverbial bandwagon and try a couple out.

All images via Pinterest

Here's the first color i picked...

Hot Coral... doesn't the name say it all? It was nice and warm, maybe a bit too warm for winter, but definitely a nice shade and definitely has some pop to it! Here's how it looked (sitting in my office. excuse the rest of my fug face)

The second color was a bit more daring... i was channeling my inner Nicki Minaj...

I think i can pull this off with the right outfit and dark club lighting... its definitely bright, though, i think the picture makes it look stronger than it does in real life. i'll probably be wearing it out this weekend for C's birthday, so hopefully i can get some better pics (on a real camera)...

What's your take on the bright lipstick trend? Would you try it?

In other news, HAPPY {almost} TURKEY DAY!

Put Your "Petal to the Metal"

Hello ladies and happy friday to you on this chilly day!

This morning I was inspired to do a little more in the make-up dept and figured I'd share with you my new favorite eye shadow...

here it is listed on the too faced site:
get it here!
And here it is IRL...

Ignore the nasty unwashed hair!

The site says its a "metallic brown/blue" color, but its actually a brownish/reddish/purple with this iridescent green in it... the pictures i have dont do it justice... all i can suggest is going to Sephora/Ulta and checking it out for yourselves. If you want a bold look this shadow will accomplish that without having to layer in any other colors. I finished the look off with Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner (my absolute favorite eyeliner EVER) and then Too Faced Lash Injection mascara. #toofacedobsessed.

What are your favorite eyeshadows?

Eff, Marry, Kill... Sports Edition

Gotta link up today with The Vintage Apple, this one is just too much fun to pass up!

This week let's focus on pro athletes...

Here are my choices, let me know your thoughts (or just drool along with me)

Eff.

Since hubby is a Jets fanatic, i figure Mark Sanchez might be the only guy out there that he'd possibly hand his wife over to. But it would be ONLY in exchange for a superbowl win, which... let's face it, isn't going to happen this year...

Marry.
i'd bend it ANY WAY for him... LOL
Now, you may be surprised that I didn't put Mr. David Beckham in the Eff category...
here's my thinking...
he's been married to Posh Spice for a pretty long time, which tells me he's gotta be a good hubby... he takes care of all his little ones and they seem to adore their daddy... brownie pts there... AND if i married him, the EFF'ing could be day and night.. and day... and night... and... well you get the pt. LOL hence why Posh just popped out Baby No. 4  i guess! LOL

Kill.

Even though Mr. Woods hasn't been in the media for some time now, I could still do with one less womanizer in this world.

Discuss. :)

And they lived happily ever after... Pt 3

Actually that's not what happened.... it was more like and they went home and my brand spankin new HUSBAND plopped himself down to watch the rest of the Jets game. HA, welcome to married life!

But before i get to that part.... here's where we left off.... said the i do's. sealed it with a kiss.

one of my all time favorito pics.

And then we sailed off into the sunset and conquered the .... oh, oops... i got so caught up... i thought i was writing a romance novel for a sec... ok, we did not sail off into the sunset... we did this....

might i add i felt kind of silly running around with G "chasing" me...

and this...

and a little of this...

this is the cover shot for our album...
we walked, and posed, and then walked some more, and then posed some more...
but it was ALL worth it...

afterwards we enjoyed some tasty bevvys... some dinner... a dance and some cake.

Raise your glass!
Some alone time...
Family shots...
First dance Shania Twain, From This Moment...
don't mind my nasty double chin in the pic on the right...
And that was it... though we didn't have the traditional wedding with all the bells and whistles, it was still a wonderful, romantic, fun-filled day that I'll never forget... This time around felt so right and I was so relaxed about the details. And most of all, knowing I have truly found someone that is the perfect partner in life made it automatically perfect.

OK sappiness over...
I'll try to get some honeymoon posts up soon...
I know you all can't wait to see the shenanigans we got into while we were away!

The Ceremony... Pt 2

Well since i'm on a roll and its a slow, lazy, rainy day at work, let's continue on, shall we?

Our ceremony was outdoors in a small private gazebo area... the weather was sunny, yet SUPER humid... and by humid, i mean everyone (bride included) had sweat dripping down our balls faces (sorry, i got a little "get low" stuck in my head)...

G was totally nervous before the ceremony started... he came in to "Marry Me" by Train to get everyone in the wedding mood...

My dad "walked" me down the aisle... daddy broke his neck in a high school football accident and has been a quadraplegic (think Christopher Reeves, minus the breathing tube) for about 50 years now. He has electric wheels, a handicapped driven van and was floored to be able to finally give me away to the RIGHT man. We walked in to Vitamin String Quartet's version of Taylor Swift's Love Story... (can i get an "awwwwww")

Despite the humidity, our pastor did a great job with the ceremony. We had 3 readings done by my brother, my aunt and G's nephew. I also insisted on playing The Prayer by Andrea Boccelli and Celine Dion... don't get me wrong, it was a nice song, but standing there for the 3 minutes absolutely SWEATING MY ASS OFF made it feel like the longest 3 minutes of my life! I even motioned to my bro to cut the music midway... as soon as the song was over... he accidentally blasted a lil Hot 97 (NYC rap station) for a few seconds before figuring out how to shut the music... the perils of DIY music to save a few bucks i guess... the younger crowd enjoyed a snippet of weezy gettin crunk for a sec.

Instead of a candle lighting ceremony we opted to do a sand ceremony... the idea is that before your lives were separate and once both the bride and groom's grains of sand combine, you are now one... intermingled both your lives. i thought it was a really sweet sentiment.

the sand vase now has a home in our living room to remind us of our special day.
The exchanging of the rings and the vows. It was so sticky that I could NOT for the life of me get G's ring onto his finger!!! I was pushing it on and repeating the words the pastor said to say and that ring would NOT budge... i started sweating and then tried to even put some muscle into it. Everyone pretty much saw i was struggling and even started giggling along with me... eventually G sort of just gave it a final push to get it on...

Look at that giant knuckle! LOL

And.....  finally, we were married....

I promise... 1 more part with some more pics and reception stuff... :)

The One Where They Got Married... Pt 1

Hi Friends!

Well, I am FINALLY getting around to doing a re-cap of our wedding (52 days and still going strong, we are going to beat KK for sure! LOL)

Anyway... we had such a perfect day... our wedding was at the Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury, NJ  on Sept 25th on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.

shadowbrook : shoes : flowers : dress

My cousin was my maid of honor and the two of us drove over together. Since this wasn't my first rodeo, i decided to skip most of the formalities of a traditional wedding so she was my only attendant.

Something Old - a diamond tennis bracelet my parents had given me for my 21st birthday
Something New - my dress or the NY JETS Garter belt i surprised G with...
Something Borrowed - my mothers pearl earrings
Something blue - see below!
my engagement ring & his wedding band  :  my something blue were blue "i do" letters on the bottom of my shoes!
My brother and mom hung out in the bridal suite for a bit while i was getting ready... and the photographer got some great shots of my cousin and brother with yours truly!

And a few of just me alone...

And then it was time for the ceremony to start ....

to be continued in Pt 2.
