A Bright Sunshiney Day...

And boy it really is here in dirty Jersey... the thermometer in my car is reading in the 90s. Though the heat is just oppressive...

In happier news, G got a job! (Insert angelic choir here). He starts in August after he finishes out his current temp job at NikeTown (hello new kicks for the both of us!) So thank you for all your prayers, they definitely helped!

And... i got an award... the gorgeous Jenn at Going the Distance nominated me for this fun award. Thanks girlfriend! Check out her blog, its fun and always has some yummy looking recipes!

Rules of the Award:

  1. Include the award log either in your acceptance post or somewhere on your blog.
  2. Answer 10 questions about yourself.
  3. Pass the award on to 10-12 other deserving bloggers.
  4. Add a link on your post to all of the talented winners and comment on their page to let them know they've been deemed amazing.
  5. Thank the brilliant soul that recognized your talent and bestowed this wonderful award on you...and of course link back to them as well.

And just when you thought you knew everything about me...
1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
I think I would want to be less high strung and uptight. I tend to be a control freak, and letting go and not worrying so much about the future would help.
2.  What is your theme song?
My theme song is my blog title. Its called Sweet Silver Linings by Kate Voegle (some of you may know her from One Tree Hill). Its basically about a girl who is trying to find herself, after getting knocked down a bit. She still finds the positive things in her life and knows there's a reason for everything.
3.  One part of your life, a memory, action, etc. that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain?
I'm agreeing with the other ladies in saying that everything happens for a reason. But if i had to pick one thing, i'd remove ever having broken my leg. Even 3 years later, my leg is still not the same and the pain and rehab i went thru was horrendous.
4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
I like being a 70's child. Though maybe i'd pick a 2000's kid, they have everything. My cousins have cell phones, iPads, laptops... kids to me seem a bit more spoiled these days, and i wouldn't mind reaping some of those benefits. LOL
5. What was your favorite childhood toy?
Hmmm, toss up between my Cabbage Patch Kid and my little Winnie-the-Pooh doll. The Pooh i didn't get til i was about 11 or 12, but my brother (2 years younger) bought it for me with his own money and that meant the world to me.
6. What is your favorite housecleaning chore?
Can I say none of the above? I guess if i had to pick, it would be making the bed. Even though we don't do that everyday, i just like how nice and clean it makes the room look. And getting into a bed with fresh sheets is heaven.
7. Do you Twitter?
I do... though i've been slacking lately. You can hit me up @shay611
8. Any goals?
To pay off our debts and buy a house. That's at the top of the list. And to have a bambino or two. Oh and to have a closet like Emily Maynard, but that goal probably won't happen unless we get a money tree.
9. Do you really drink margaritas all the time?
Actually no, i almost NEVER drink margaritas. Tequilla and i do NOT get along. Thank you NYE 2008. I stick with mojitos, sangria or wine.
10. What is the ugliest car you've ever driven and were embarrassed to be seen in?
Actually all my cars have been pretty decent. Looking back out of all of them, i was dying to get my civic coupe, but now i think that car was butt ugly. Other than that, i've had pretty decent cars luckily.

OK here's who i nominate:
b.mary & blessed
Only in Vegas

Stilettos and a fishing pole
Nothing Rhymes with Rachel

A little bit of this & that
SimplyLyndsay
Love, Lipstick & Pearls

A Modern Suburbanites Life
busy bee

  2. Ouch about your leg! I think thats totally legit to wanna erase from your memory.

I thought about writing a 2000's kid, too, but I work with a lot of them and it boggles my mind still to see how they have access to everything. And still want more!
